Investment funds: business models, financial stability risks and regulation

This course will take place over 2 consecutive days at the EUI premises in Florence, Italy.

Two modules will be taught online:

• Module 0 “Regulation and supervision of investment funds in the EU” – is a preparatory module. It is designed for participants that are less familiar with the regulatory framework in the EU or that wish to refresh their knowledge.
• Module 1 “Sustainability considerations related to investment funds”.   

• Provide participants with an overview of the regulatory framework for investment funds in the European Union. 
• Provide key insights on the main characteristics and features of Money Market Funds. 
• Provide participants with an overview on sustainability and ESG aspects linked to investment funds. 
• Expose participants to the main prudential risks associated with investment funds both at micro and macro level. 
• Familiarise participants with state-of-the-art analytical tools for monitoring and assessing risk in the EU investment funds sector, with a focus on stress testing. 
• Expose participants to tools for risk mitigation and prevention. 
• Offer a forum for open and critical exchanges among participants on the blind spots of the current framework. 
• Introduce participants to the macroprudential approach to investment funds.

This introductory-level course is especially relevant for professionals involved in the supervision of investment funds or, more broadly, in areas related to financial stability and risk management. This includes personnel from central banks, European institutions, financial supervisory authorities, as well as from the private sector, such as commercial banks, investment banks, and insurance companies. Academic researchers and PhD students focusing on these areas are also welcome to participate.

FULL FEES applicable from 17 June onwards*:

*Please note that the payment must be settled one week before the start of the course.

The fee includes tuition, access to all course materials and pedagogic activities, coffee and lunch breaks and social activities, as well as a certificate of attendance after the course has been completed. The fee does not include travel and accommodation expenses or other local transportation costs (taxis, private cars).

CANCELLATION POLICY
