Biography
Vanessa Endrejat (EUI) is a Research Fellow at the SIU Lab, where she works on the policy issues at the heart of Europe’s Savings and Investments Union, from pension reform and securitisation to savings and investment accounts.
Her expertise lies at the intersection of public finance and financial markets, with a particular focus on how Europe finances its priorities, including fiscal rules, off-balance-sheet instruments, public-private partnerships and the role of institutional investors such as insurers and pension funds.
This expertise informs both her academic research, which has appeared in international peer-reviewed journals spanning political economy and public policy, and her policy work at the Lab, where she develops policy reports and comments on current developments in European capital markets and financial policy.
Prior to joining the SIU Lab, Vanessa was a Max Weber Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence. She completed her PhD and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies (MPIfG) in Cologne, and gained early policy experience as a research intern in the Deutsche Bundesbank’s Financial Stability Department.
