Biography

In September 2018 she was appointed Deputy Governor of the Banco de España. As from that date she also sits on the Supervisory Board of the European Central Bank’s Single Supervisory Mechanism, is the Chair of the Management Committee of the Spanish Deposit Guarantee Scheme for Credit Institutions, Vice-Chair of the Management Committee of the FROB (Fund for the Orderly Restructuring of the Spanish Banking Sector), a Council Member of the CNMV (Spanish National Securities Market Commission). Previously, she was Deputy Director General for Micro-Prudential Supervision I at the European Central Bank, with responsibility for the direct supervision of the 35 biggest and most complex significant institutions in the euro area.
