Biography

Lars is a Principal Supervisor within the Fit and Proper Division of the ECB Banking Supervision. He is currently responsible for conducting Fit and Proper assessments of members of management bodies of Significant Institutions from the Netherlands and Belgium. He is involved in several horizontal projects, e.g. the further development of the policy for Fit and Proper reassessments. Lars joined the ECB and the Fit and Proper Division in May 2017. Prior to the ECB, he worked for the German financial supervisory authority BaFin as a member of a Joint Supervisory Team and before he spent almost ten years as a policy advisor in the European Parliament in Brussels and Strasbourg. Lars passed the First and Second Legal State exams in Berlin and holds a Master´s degree in law.
