Biography

Julia leads on innovative approaches to impact investing and Impact Measurement and Management (IMM). She has spent 20 years working at the intersection of impact investing, international development, and academia, focusing on how entrepreneurship and catalytic capital can build a more inclusive and climate-resilient world.

As Director of Impact at Acumen, Julia leads the impact team and oversees the organization’s end-to-end approach to impact—spanning strategy, investments, operations, research, insights, and thought leadership.

Prior to joining Acumen in 2021, she held roles with a global private impact-first investor, an African agribusiness investor, and a global NGO focused on improving health, education, and livelihoods. She also held academic positions in the UK and the Netherlands.

Julia serves as Guest Faculty for the Oxford Impact Measurement Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and holds a PhD from the London School of Economics.
