Biography

Jens Obermöller is Director-General for Cyber Risks and Technology in the Financial Sector at the German Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin). He has led BaFin’s IT Security and Payments Regulation division since 2016, where he oversees IT and cybersecurity matters across all supervisory areas as part of a cross-departmental competence center. He is also an active member of numerous European and international working groups focused on financial regulation and technology risks. After studying business administration and spending several years in auditing, he joined BaFin in 2008 and has since held a range of roles within the organization.
