Biography

Isabella Cortesi is an investment funds policy expert at ESMA, responsible for investor protection, leverage, liquidity and financial stability aspects of the EU legislation on asset management.  Her main focus areas include various product-related topics across several key pieces of EU regulation, notably UCITS, AIFMD and money market funds. She spent several years working in risk management functions prior joining ESMA in 2018. Isabella holds a MSC in Finance and a Master in Financial Regulation from LUISS University in Rome, as well as a PhD in civil economics from LUMSA University.
