Biography
Inês Azevedo is a Research Associate at the Florence School of Banking and Finance, where she works on sustainable finance and anti-money laundering. She is completing her PhD in Law at the European University Institute, with her dissertation Green Dreams, Gated Realities – Implementing a Circular Economy in the Housing Sector: A Comparative Study of California and the Netherlands. Her research focuses on environmental law and regulatory studies.
Previously, Inês was a Legal Advisor at the Portuguese Central Bank, specialising in regulatory affairs related to anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing. She also worked as a Research Assistant at Wageningen University’s Law Group, contributing to legal and policy research on environmental and food law.
She holds an LL.M. in Comparative, European, and International Laws from the European University Institute and a Bachelor of Law from Nova Law School of Lisbon.
