Biography
Gábor Gyura holds a master’s degree in Economics and a PhD in Earth Sciences (Economic Geography). He was the founding head of the Sustainable Finance Department at the Central Bank of Hungary and was responsible for the Bank’s green agenda between 2018 and 2022.
Between 2022 and 2025, he worked as a consultant supporting the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI), designing and delivering international capacity-building programmes for banks. Previously, he held senior expert and management positions at the Central Bank of Hungary and worked as a financial services policy expert at the European Central Bank.
He currently works as an independent consultant in sustainable finance advisory and training, is a Visiting Fellow at the Florence School of Banking & Finance of the European University Institute, and serves as Director of the Hungarian Sustainable Investment and Finance Association (HuSif). He also participates in sustainability-related committees and advisory boards, including the Sustainability & Corporate Governance Committee of the Budapest Stock Exchange.
