Biography
Clemens Bonner is Head of Department Macroprudential Analysis and Policy at the central bank of the Netherlands (DNB). His team focusses on the analysis and identification of systemic risks (among other things by means of stress testing) as well as the implementation of macroprudential policy. To this end, the department is also responsible for DNB’s Financial Stability Report and the coordination of the Dutch Financial Stability Committee. In the past, Clemens has done extensive work in the context of supervising banks’ exposure to liquidity and funding risks. Clemens has published several papers analyzing the impact of financial regulation on bank behaviour. Before joining DNB, Clemens has worked for the ECB, the ifo Institute for Economic Research and the ZEW. Clemens holds a B.Sc. from Humboldt University Berlin and a master’s degree and PhD from Tilburg University.
