Biography

Alessandro Giovannini is Adviser to the Programme Manager of the Digital Euro in the Digital euro Directorate.

Before taking this position he was leading the ECB team in charge of the ECB’s relations with the European Parliament, national parliaments and other policy makers, including in connection with the digital euro project.

Prior to joining the ECB in 2015, he was a researcher working mainly on European political economy issues at various European and international organisations including the Centre for European Policy Studies in Brussels, the Istituto Affari Internazionali in Rome and the Observatoire Français des Conjonctures Economiques in Paris.

Alessandro holds Master degrees in Economics from the Paris School of International Affairs (Sciences Po) and in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics.
