The 2025 FBF Executive Seminar will bring together leading academics, policymakers, and private sector practitioners for a two-day event focused on exploring these critical issues.

|| This event is upon invitation only ||

Europe’s financial system is undergoing deep transformations, driven by the rampant and fast development and take-up of digital technologies, the (these days) slower-moving greening of the European financial system and growing security threats.

Yet, it is fair to claim that for now Europe is still at a stage in which it only started to develop a strategic awareness as to how to both forcefully and wittingly respond to these combined challenges in such a way that Europe also increases its strategic autonomy instead of further growing its exposures and vulnerabilities (as it seems to have done in money laundering for example).

Is Europe winning this bet? Can regulation be the one and only solution to the daunting task of making Europe’s financial system future-proof? What else is needed to make Europe’s financial system safe and competitive at the same time?

In this context and in order to survey and debate these opportunities and challenges, FBF convenes leading academics, policymakers, and private sector practitioners coming from a variety of disciplines for a two-day event at the European University Institute campus in Fiesole, Italy.

This event will be conducted under the Chatham House Rule.
