What are the EU Financial Sector Priorities for 2030? The 2024 FBF Executive Seminar will gather leading academics, policymakers, and private sector practitioners for a two-day event to discuss these fundamental topics.

2024 is the year of big elections. The EU is no exception, with European parliamentary elections, significant changes among EU Commissioners, a new President of the European Council, and the possibility of a new Commission President.

The FBF Executive Seminar takes stock of the diverse finance and financial sector governance challenges facing the next Commission, Parliament, and Council. The years leading to 2030 will be vital for financing the Twin Transition. EU institutions must decide how this transition will be funded, including through much-needed capital markets reform. The EU will also need to tackle the pressing questions of its possible enlargement, including its approach to Ukraine. To be a force for good in the world, the EU must be a pacesetter and ensure that finance does not enable illicit activities, including through intelligent regulation and supervision.

In order to survey and debate these opportunities and challenges, FBF convenes leading academics, policymakers, and private sector practitioners for a two-day event at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy.

This event is by invitation only and will be conducted under the Chatham House Rule.
