The recording of the online seminar on TLAC gets over 1000 views
The recording of our online seminar with Tobias Tröger (Goethe-Universität Frankfurt) has reached this week over 1000 views on YouTube.
This online seminar, which inaugurated the FBF online seminar series last year, was held on the 18th of January 2017. In his talk, Professor Tröger analysed the crucial features of the requirements of the Financial Stability Board’s Total Loss-Absorbing Capacity (TLAC) requirements, particularly focusing on the prescription on the Minimum Requirement for own Funds and Eligible Liabilities (MREL) contained in the Bank Recovery and Resolution Directive (BRRD) adopted in spring 2014. The participants were engaged via poll questions and an interactive Q&A session, where the topics of the implementation of the standards and the recent debate on bail-ins and bank failures were analysed in-depth.
Tobias Tröger holds the Chair of Private Law, Trade and Business Law, Jurisprudence at Goethe-University Frankfurt am Main since 2011. He holds a Ph.D.-degree from the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen and an LL.M. from Harvard Law School. His research interests include contract law and contract theory, comparative corporate governance, corporate finance, banking law and the economic analysis of law.
