Biography
Nita Handastya is a PhD candidate in Economics at the Consortium of Tuscan Universities (University of Siena, University of Florence, and University of Pisa). Prior to the PhD, she completed a Laurea Magistrale degree (equivalent to MSc) at the Polytechnic University of Marche in International Economics and Commerce during which she undertook a semester exchange at the University of Würzburg. Her research formation was further complemented by research training with CEFER at the Bank of Lithuania, CHAIN at the NTNU, and ERCD at the Asian Development Bank. She has completed visiting PhD researcher periods with the Levy Economics Insitute of Bard College, ISER at the University of Essex, and the monetary policy department at the Bank of Latvia. In addition to her academic formation, she has previously undertaken business development and consultancy roles in the private sector in Indonesia, Malaysia, and India.
