Biography

Laura Macchioni is a Research Associate at the Florence School of Banking and Finance and is currently involved in the activities of the EU Supervisory Digital Finance Academy. In 2018 she completed her degree in International Economic and Business Studies at the University of Innsbruck, with a thesis in Macroeconomics about the behaviour of income distribution during recessions.

She holds a postgraduate master’s degree in European Studies from the University of Vienna, where she became familiar with the internal rules of European institutions, current questions of law and politics, and legislation at the EU level. After her working experience as a business developer for a digital media company in Vienna, she joined the Economic and Risk Analysis Department of the European Banking Authority for 1.5 years in Paris. In this context, she was involved in the organisation of the annual EBA policy research workshop and in several task force activities focusing on the Basel Framework.
