Interview to Elena Carletti on The European Financial Review
The Scientific Director of the Florence School of Banking and Finance, Professor Elena Carletti, gave recently an interview to The European Financial Review. The interview, entitled Exploring New Avenues for the Financial Industry, started from the premise that the EU’s financial industry still needs a more diversified system and stronger key policies to unlock the sector’s full operational efficiency and profitability.
On the basis of the recent executive training activities and policy debate conducted at the Florence School of Banking and Finance, Professor Carletti tackled the first question discussing the possible future avenues for financial stability, assessing the risks and opportunities presented by the new technologies, particularly FinTech, and discussing the changing business models. The next questions focused on the topic of Brexit and its impact on the EU capital market, as well as on the financial development and stability of the EU in the near future, highlighting in particular the need for further analysis and academic discussion on how the competence in key policy areas are split between the member states and the European level.
The interview was closed by a suggestion by Professor Carletti to young emerging talents in the financial industry who want to be successful in their careers, which is that to to exploit any occasions they can to receive fresh insights, critically analyse them and be ready to embrace new trends, particularly through regular participation in training courses and through discussion with other people in the sector. The full article is available here.
